The Delhi Minimum Wages Rules, 1950

The Minimum Wages Central Rules,1950 provides for fixing minimum rates of wages in certain employments, which are included in the schedule.The Delhi Government is following the Minimum Wages Central Rules 1950 for the effective administration and monitoring of Minimum Wages Act,1950.

Compliances

    Applicability

    - The Act applies to the schedule of employment for which minimum wages are fixed/revised. - Every employer shall pay the minimum wages for the scheduled employments under this Act. There is the provision to fix hours of work, overtime, and wages for overtime. - Variable DA is fixed based on the Consumer Price Index of the previous calendar year. - Minimum wages are fixed in Delhi on the advice of the State Level Minimum Wages Advisory Board.
