The Government of Assam has published a notification suspending the operation of section 6,9,10 and 11 of Assam Shops and Establishments Act throughout Assam during the festival holidays listed in the said Notification for a period of 70 days. The shops and establishments will remain open on these 70 days subject to the condition that the employees shall be paid compensation to the overtime work and for work on weekly off days, by the concerned employers.
