Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Gujarat) (Amendment) Rules, 2023
The Labour Department of Gujarat has issued Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) (Gujarat) (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) (Gujarat) Rules, 1981.
As per the amendment, the Registering / Licencing Authority shall grant the registration / Licence within 45 days after receiving the application if satisfied about the eligibility of the applicant. In case of failure to issue registration within the stipulated timeline, it shall be deemed as approved registration.

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has directed all jurisdictional officers to run a special campaign from 01 July to 31 July 2021 for the registration of major employers and license to the contractor under the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979. Also, it has directed them to make all the employers or institutions and labour organizations aware of instructions as mentioned in the circular. All the principal employers employing or have employed during last 12 months, the workers through outsourcing, should mandatorily register with the Labour Department of NCT Delhi at https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in.
