As per the Amendment, in Rule 55(1), after the third proviso, a proviso is inserted stating that a person, appointed before the April 1st, 2020, shall be qualified to claim sickness benefit for the period 01 Jan 2021 to the 30 June 2021 and in Rule 56(1) a proviso shall be inserted where an insured woman shall be eligible to claim maternity benefit for a confinement occurring or expected to occur during the benefit period 01 January 2021 to 30 June 2021.The Amendment shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January, 2021, and shall remain in force for a period of six months till the 30th day of June, 2021.
