Declaration of paid holiday for bye-election

The West Bengal Government has declared 12 April 2022 as a paid holiday on account of bye-election.

In accordance with the said notification, all shops, commercial and industrial establishments, in the areas pertaining to the constituencies, to which elections have been notified and in whose units tuesday is a working day, to grant a paid holiday on 12 April 2022 (Tuesday) to all categories of workers and employees who are voters in the said constituency/areas to enable them to exercise their right of franchise in the aforesaid election. This applies to the daily wage/casual workers as well.
