The ABRY scheme provides subsidy through EPFO for a period of two years from the time of registration to new employees who draw monthly wages less than Rs. 15,000.
The subsidy provided includes both the contributions of employer as well as the employee i.e., total 24% of the wages. This scheme is applicable for employees of establishments that have up to 1000 employees. In cases where the establishment have more than 1000 employees, the subsidy is provided only for the employee’s share i.e., 12% of the wages.
This scheme was about to end by 30 June 2021 and amidst the COVID 19, the Government extended it till 31 March 2022 to encourage more employment opportunities.
