Aadhar Seeding time extended to 3 class of establishments

The EPFO has extended the time granted for Aadhar seeding of UAN of EPF members to 01 October 2021 and 31 December 20201 subject to certain conditions.

The EPFO in its previous circular had mandated the UAN generation based on Aadhar information for filing ECR.

Many employers organisations, and employers represented before the authorities concerned and thereafter the EPFO extended the time limit to 01.09.2021.

Now, EPFO has further extended the time limit to 01 October 2021 subject to the following conditions:

  • In the North-Eastern Zone, time for mandatory seeding of Aadhar in UAN for filing ECR is extended till 31 December 2021.
  • For certain class of establishments such as Beedi making, Building and Construction and Plantation industries, (Tea, Coffee,Cardamom, Pepper, Jute, Rubber, Cinchona, Cashewnuts etc.) time for mandatory seeding of Aadhar in UAN for filing ECR is extended till 31 December 2021.
  • For areas and establishments other than above, delay in filing of ECRs for wage months of August and September 2021 only in respect of EPF members due to non-seeding of Aadhar in the UANs should not be presumed as employer’s default for levy of penal damages u/s 14B of the EPF & MP Act, 1952.

Establishments who are yet to complete the exercise of seeding Aadhar with UAN of EPF members registered prior to 01.10.2017 are advised to complete the exercise without further delay.
