As per notification published in the official gazette dated 4th September, 2018, the Government of India has amended the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1998. The registration has to be compulsorily filed online on the Shram Suvidha Portal of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The payment of the fees shall be made by e-payment. The Certificate of registration shall also be generated electronically. A similar draft amendment has also been introduced for Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 1971 and Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1980, which are pending final publication.
