Amendments in Tamil Nadu Contract Labour Rules, 1975

The Government of Tamil Nadu vide notification No. SRO A-19/2019 has amended the Tamil Nadu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1975, the amendment under Rule 17 Rule,21, Rule 29 hereby introduces new provisions under the online payment process to procure the license under the Act and Rule.

The amendments to the Tamil Nadu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1975, are as under:

Under Rule 17

• In sub-rule (2), after the expression, “or online payment through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression “or proof of online payment made through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted;
• In sub-rule (3), after the expression” “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression, “or through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted;

Under Rule 21

• In sub-rule (3), after the expression, “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression,” “or through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted;
• In sub-rule (5), after the expression, “or online payment through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression, “or proof of online payment made through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted;

Under Rule 29

• In sub-rule (2A), after the expression, “shall be made through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression, “or through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted;
• In proviso to sub-rule (2A), after the expression, “online payment through online portal of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health”, the expression, “or proof of online payment made through online portal of Department of Labour”, shall be inserted.
