Nikhil didn't start in product. He started with ledgers and audit trails, then Finance & Accounts, then Business Services and IT-Software, a decade of learning how businesses actually run before he ever touched a roadmap. An MBA specialized in Finance and Marketing came somewhere in that stretch too. Two decades in, the last 6+ spent building product.
That background still runs the show. At greytHR, he leads three pillars: Core HR, PMS, and Engagement. Core HR is the foundation everything else sits on, employee records, onboarding and offboarding, workflow management, org charts, documents, the plumbing that has to work before anything else does. He treats every decision there the way he used to treat a balance sheet: show the number first, then make the call.
On PMS and Engagement, he's built goal plans, performance reviews, 360° feedback, calibration, and social recognition tools like Kudos and polls, mostly for organizations across India and the Gulf.
