The Bengaluru BBMP notified that the trade licence, which is being renewed every year, may be renewed from 1 to 5 five years effective from the FY 2022-23.

The renewal fee for Trade Licence renewal may be paid online or through bank challan
without penalty from 01.02.2022 to 28.02.2022.
A penalty of 25% will be applicable for renewal between 01.03.2022 to 31.03.2022 and a penalty of 100% will be applicable for renewal after 01.04.2022.

Karnataka Government limits work hours under the Shops and Establishments Act
20 Jul, 2021The Karnataka Government has amended the work hours under the provisions of the Shops and Establishments Act.
As per the amendment, no employee in any establishment shall be required or allowed to work for more than nine hours on any day and forty-eight hours in any week and the total number of hours of work including overtime shall not exceed ten hours in any day except on the day of stock-taking and preparation of accounts. Further the total number of overtime hours worked by an employee not to exceed fifty hours in a period of three continuous months.
