The ESI wage limit coverage, would be increased from 15,000/- to 21,000/-

The Central Government, has drafted rules to amend the existing Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950. The rules drafted by the government are as followed:

<- The Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950 would be renamed as Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Amendment Rules, 2016.

<- The ESI wage limit coverage, would be increased from 15,000/- to 21,000/-.

ESIC has revised the ESI wage limit coverage. As per the GAZETTE OF INDIA Draft Rule, the wage limit would be increased from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 21,000 with effect from October 2016. The final amended notification is expected on or after 7th November 2016.
