Aadhaar card mandatory for pensioners and members under the EPS scheme

Did you know that the ubiquitous Aadhaar card is now mandatory to avail pension and membership to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)?

If your employees have not yet enrolled for Aadhaar card, please inform them to enroll for it before January 31, 2017.

Alternate ID proofs

Till the employee receives his or her Aadhaar card, central government’s contribution and subsidy will continue to be provided to him or her based on any one of the following alternate identification proofs produced:

  • ID certificate issued by the employer or field office of EPFO with the UAN issued
  • Aadhaar card enrollment ID slip
  • Copy of request made for Aadhaar card enrollment
  • Voter ID card
  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Driving License

Any other document specified by the Provident Fund (PF) department
