Basic is a fixed amount paid to an employee. It is the main component in an employee's Salary Structure and CTC. Other benefits, additional payments or deductions are not considered here.
Factors like industry, employee level and HR policy are considered for the calculation of Basic.
If Basic is low, the employee's tax liability will be low. But certain benefits, like dearness allowance and Bonus will also be lower.
