Many of the registers and forms, which you need to maintain for compliance with Labour Laws, have been modified by the Ministry of Labour under the following legislations:
- The Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996
- The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970
- The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976
- The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979
- The Mines Act, 1952
- The Minimum Wages Act, 1948
- The Payment of Wages Act, 1936
- The Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976
- The Working Journalists and Other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955
As per the Gazette of India notification dated 21 February 2017, the following forms and registers may be replaced with new forms:

You can maintain these registers in soft copy format without altering the integrity, serial number and contents of the columns.
The above modifications and amendments will be applicable wherever central government rules are applicable. However, in cases where state government rules apply, the existing format for forms and registers may be used until the respective state government amends it.
