Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)

In order to provide social security to the workers in the unorganised sector, the Indian government enacted the Labour Welfare Fund Act and introduced the Labour Welfare Fund (LWF). It is one of the Indian payroll compliance requirements
for employers.

Managed by the Labour Board, and implemented by many states and union territories, the fund comprises contributions from eligible employers, employees and the government in some states.

This fund helps workers enjoy better working conditions and also raise their standard of living. Housing schemes, medical care and educational & recreational facilities are just a few of the benefits of LWF.

Employers can also get the benefits of refined industrial relations and improved work efficiency.
